Just a hi. I'm a 2nd Year OT student in the UK. Really enjoyed reading some of your posts. My course is full of young energetic Christians wanting to use the gifts God gave them to help others achieve their full potential. These kids inspire me. As for me I'm an older (40), sometimes wiser recovered alcoholic who stays sober 1 day at a time by turning his will and his life over to the care of God as I understand him. 2 years ago I'd never heard of Occupational Therapy, but God brought me to it through a series of amazing events that brought me to faith in his amazing power. Take care,

It was very inspiring, very good song selection! I actually whispered to myself when I heard the song... because it's the first time where I have the feeling of, "Hey! I know this song!"

I think that the makings of a good church leader include someone inspirational... whether it's from the Bible or real life. After all, a good example could serve on the fact that not only these people have a great template, but also the chance of building on something that's already great.

Personally, I don't do ministry for the recognition, although it is a great catalyst to keep me going as well as a "trump card" for me to use in certain church-related situations. An example of which would be a reputation I built despite only being involved in Chinese Ministry of the Episcopal Church for like 3 years or so and a shocking church relocation to go with it. I know I sort of needed it because it is a ministry that's dominated by older folks who are in Chinese churches.

Behind the scenes, though, I was blessed to observe and know quite a bit of leaders from other churches. I simply learned from their good traits and pitfalls so that I could be the best leader I could be. In other words, I have acquired bits and pieces from other leaders and tried to put them together with my own pieces to formulate into the YA leader in me.

I feel that the moral (putting the SB stuff aside) of the story is- If God calls on you to be a leader, you don't have to refuse right away. Rather, take a look around the leaders you know and think about why they are successful, be proactive to know more about being a leader, and be yourself throughout this "transformation". After all, God has given you all the pieces. It's up to you to put the puzzle together!

this is good stuff!! Would you pray for me? I am running $780 short that is due next week and I just need some prayer agreement as I have prayed ( and continue to do so that this need be met) and believe!
Thank you so much! You blog is very encouraging and I believe Jesus led me to it!
I am a guitarist who plays every Sunday at our local Church on the worship team.
